This gorgeous open floor plan apartment is designed with window walls on two sides that fill the interior with natural light, fresh air, and magnificent mountain and garden views.  Its high, beamed ceiling is topped with a sculpted wood fan for additional comfort.  The one-of-a-kind Queen bed, topped with a cozy duvet, is accompanied by other hand-crafted wood furnishings throughout this lovely space.  And, even the colors that surround you are inspired!  Inspired by the French artist Paul Gauguin in his most famous painting, “Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?”  An interpretation of this extraordinary work has been reproduced in the studio as a 16’ x 8’ mural.

The eat-in kitchen includes a refrigerator, sink, a variety of counter top electric appliances for versatile cooking, tableware and other essentials including, of course, a table for 2.

Double glass doors open to a paved veranda from where you can view a reproduction of the 3 wood panels Gauguin designed and carved for the entry to his studio on the island of Hiva Oa where he died in 1903.  Steps lead up to a table in the garden for an al fresco dining option.

The spacious bathroom is filled with sunlight and offers plenty of storage.

A mini bus from Boquete town to The Villa passes our place “about” every 30 minutes

This mountain enclave in the Chiriqui highlands is surrounded by emerald green coffee plantations and tropical foliage. Enjoy panoramic views to the Pacific Ocean, cool breezes, bajaraque, rainbows, starry night skies and flocks of chattering wild parakeets as they make their way across the treetops. Yet, The Villa Gauguin is only a 15 minute scenic drive from Boquete town on a well paved road.

Along this scenic route, Panama’s Ruta Agroturismo, you can experience local agriculture activities up close and visit the lush plantations that produce some of the world’s best coffee, including neighboring Finca Lerida (also known for sighting the exotic Resplendent Quetzal and numerous other tropical birds.) As The Villa Gauguin sits at the highest point along this route, immediately beyond our entry gate the road begins to wind down to the Caldera River. Here you will discover the entrance to Volcan Baru National Park with its famous hiking venue, the Quetzal Trail. Also close by is the entrance to the Pipeline Trail for an easy stroll, as well as the more vigorous 3 Lost Waterfalls Trail. Other attractions include the San Ramon Waterfall, a goat farm and Los Ladrillos for rock climbing enthusiasts.
