Panama is about to see a renewed boost in European tourism with the return of Condor Airlines, which will begin direct flights between Frankfurt and Panama City starting in June 2025. This development positions Panama to capture more long-stay, high-value travelers from Germany—an increasingly important market for the country’s tourism and real estate sectors.
Condor will operate two weekly flights using the modern Airbus A330-900, which accommodates 310 passengers. The service will offer a total of 958 seats per week, connecting Frankfurt and Panama City on Wednesdays and Sundays. Flights depart Germany at 9:50 p.m. and arrive in Panama the next day at 2:40 a.m. Return flights are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays at 9:37 a.m., landing in Frankfurt the following morning.
For travelers needing more flexibility, Condor also offers joint travel options with Copa Airlines, allowing passengers to connect through cities like Miami and reach Panama on alternate days.
According to PROMTUR Panama, Germany is a key target market due to the long average stays—between 15 and 16 nights—and significant spending power of German tourists. Their return is timely, following the success of the Panama Stopover program by Copa Airlines, which brought in over 160,000 visitors in 2024 alone.
Real Estate Perspective
With expanded access from Europe, interest in lifestyle-driven markets like Boquete and Pedasi may see a quiet but meaningful uptick. Both regions already attract international buyers looking for scenic surroundings and quality of life. German and European retirees or second-home seekers, drawn by Panama’s climate and affordability, may now find it easier to explore these communities firsthand.
Improved air access could also boost short-term rental demand and bring new buyer profiles to sellers currently focused on North American audiences.
