The streets were full this past weekend of fun-lovingBoqueteños in honor of the 104th birthday of the founding of Boquete.
The mayor unveiled a new statue near the entrance to town in honor of those who have worked so hard to make the town the jewel it is today. Their hard work and dedication along with Boquete’s fortunate location have made Boquete one of the most wonderful places to live in the world.
A new clock was also erected over the new fountain in the Central Park in honor of the day.
And the annual Grand Equestrian Parade filled the town with residents on horseback in the late afternoon.

En medio de actos cívicos, develación de un monumento a los fundadores, cabalgatas, misas, festival folclórico, artesanal y gastronómico, el distrito de Boquete, provincia de Chiriquí, celebra este 11 de abril sus 104 años de fundación.
Emigdio Walker, alcalde de esta turística comunidad, indicó que las festividades arrancan hoy desde las 8:00 a.m., con un acto cívico en las instalaciones del Palacio Municipal, y luego la develación de un monumento a los fundadores, así como un desfile cívico por las principales calles de la región, para culminar en horas de la tarde con una cabalgata.
El 11 de abril de 1911, mediante la Ley 20, se crea legalmente este distrito, integrado por los corregimientos de Bajo Boquete, Los Naranjos, Jaramillo, Alto Boquete, Palmira y Caldera.
