Panama West

Sora is a small village located in the district of Chame, Panama, known for its charming climate, natural beauty, and friendly people. According to local legend, the village's name comes from a local indigenous leader named Soró, who was the chief when the Spanish conquistadors arrived.

Sora, in particular, is a special place that is both close and far from the city, located just an hour and a half from Panama City. It is a peaceful and traditional village set in the mountains, with breathtaking mountain views, clear streams and rivers, and several scenic overlooks, including Cerro de la Cruz. The area has a cool climate and is known for its strong, refreshing breeze.

The people of Sora are warm and welcoming, and are well-versed in the traditions, stories, and legends of the village. They are hardworking and dedicated, often starting their days at 3 a.m. to tend to their farms, cattle, and other duties. Despite the early hours and cold, misty mornings, they are always ready to chat and share their experiences with visitors.

In Sora, you can truly escape the distractions of modern life and experience the simple pleasures of nature and community living.
