Panama Gears Up for the 2026 Panama Canal Cup – A Tropical Pickleball Experience Like No Other

Panama City is set to host one of the most exciting pickleball tournaments in Latin America – the 2026 Panama Canal Cup. Organized by Side Out Travel, this event invites players from across North and South America to come together for five days of world-class competition, community spirit, and tropical adventure in the heart of Panama.

From January 22 to 27, 2026, the tournament will take place at Park & Padel in Panama City, just minutes from the iconic Panama Canal. Participants can expect a mix of skill, sun, and social connection, with events designed for players of all levels – from beginners to senior professionals.

Where Pickleball Meets Paradise

The Panama Canal Cup offers a unique experience that blends sport, culture, and travel. Panama, a country that literally bridges continents, provides the perfect backdrop. Between matches, players and spectators can explore lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and vibrant city life – all within a few hours’ drive.

With divisions including Senior Professional (led by U.S. national champions Paul Olin and Lee Sponaugle), Open, Beginner/Intermediate, and Senior 60+, the event promises top-level play and fun for everyone.

Categories include Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Singles, ensuring every type of competitor finds their place on the court.

More Than Just a Tournament

The week will feature a full lineup of activities beyond the games. On January 22, players can attend clinics with the pros at both Coronado Pickleball Center in Coronado and Park & Padel in Panama City.
A Welcome Party follows on January 23, bringing together locals and visiting players for an evening of music, laughter, and new friendships.

The official tournament runs through January 25, capped with an awards ceremony celebrating both athletic performance and community spirit.

But the experience doesn’t end there – from January 26 to 27, participants can join community service projects through Peace In Pickleball, teaching clinics and donating gear to local kids, or explore the country through Side Out Travel’s “Experience Panama” vacation packages.
