Panama’s Own Black Friday: Black Weekend 2025 Shopping Extravaganza

Panama Black Weekend 2025: Three Days of Big Shopping, Fun, and Travel

From October 3 to 5, 2025, Panama will host the Panama Black Weekend, one of the biggest shopping events in Latin America. For three days, visitors can enjoy discounts of up to 70% across more than 3,000 stores in 16 shopping malls around the country.

What is Panama Black Weekend?

It’s an annual shopping festival designed to attract both locals and international visitors. Organized by Panama’s shopping center association with the support of the national tourism authority, the event turns the country into a hub for fashion, electronics, beauty, and more. Over 20,000 brands – from global names to local favorites – will be part of the deals.

Who can benefit?

  • Travelers: Citizens of many countries, including Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Argentina, can enter Panama with just a valid passport and no visa.

  • Families: Shopping malls will also feature cultural events, live shows, and kid-friendly activities, so it’s more than just a shopping trip.

  • Bargain hunters: With one of the lowest sales taxes in the region (7%), Panama lets your money go further when compared to other shopping destinations.

Where can you shop?

Some of the most popular shopping centers include:

  • Albrook Mall, one of the largest in Latin America with over 700 stores.

  • Soho Mall and Town Center, known for high-end boutiques.

  • Altaplaza Mall and Los Pueblos, offering a mix of fashion, technology, and quick shopping near the airport.
Other malls like Westland Mall, Chiriquí Mall, and Colón 2000 will also join the celebration.

What can you expect?

Besides discounts, expect:

  • Fashion deals: from sportswear to luxury brands.

  • Tech sales: laptops, phones, gaming consoles, and accessories.

  • Beauty and perfumes: top international labels at competitive prices.

  • Entertainment and food: concerts, art shows, and restaurants that showcase Panama’s diverse gastronomy.

Travel perks for visitors

Thanks to Panama’s strategic location and air connectivity, it’s easy to fly in for the event. Through Copa Airlines’ Free Stopover Program, travelers can extend their trip for up to 7 extra days without paying more for the flight – perfect for combining shopping with sightseeing.

And there’s plenty to see: you can explore the Casco Antiguo (Panama City’s historic district), relax at Pacific beaches near the city, or even plan a side trip to Boquete in Chiriquí for mountain views and world-famous coffee.

Why it matters

Panama Black Weekend is more than just shopping – it’s an experience that mixes culture, travel, and unbeatable prices. For locals, it’s a chance to enjoy world-class events right at home. For international visitors, it’s a convenient getaway that combines shopping with tourism in one trip.
